Major upgrade of a 70s developer's building into new offices for ASC Architects, featuring a new atrium, enhanced seismic safety, and a striking folded mesh sunscreen, creating a transformed and sustainable workspace in Ponsonby.
ASC Architects are now operating from their new offices at 17 Maidstone Street, Ponsonby. The typical 70s developer’s building had many tenants over the years and was in poor condition with a low seismic rating. However, it gave ASC Architects an opportunity to add design value with a major upgrade of the building.
Work included a new atrium and stairs connecting both floors, exposed seismic strengthening to 100% NBS, new services, and a new folded mesh sunscreen on the street elevation. This has completely transformed the building making it the perfect long-term home for ASC Architects.
