High on the Bay View hills of Napier lies this entertaining oasis.
The owners desired a space that would suit their entertaining lifestyle and embrace the expansive view of the bay. Thanks to a team of design and landscaping experts, their dream came true…
Large pivoting glass doors open out from the pool house onto slabs of limestone, which seem to float on beds of tropical plants. Natural timber decking leads guests between swaying palms and bird of paradise, down to the pool and entertaining terrace.
From here, the infinity pool reflects the sky and blends into the endless ocean. Flanked by DEVON sunloungers and a raised bar area, it’s the perfect place to soak in the sweeping views from the Māhia Peninsula right around to the iconic Cape Kidnappers.
From the flora to the furniture, everything had to be able to survive the exposed nature of the hilltop site. The limestone pavers, timber decking, corten steel fireplace, and DEVON teak furniture are all purposefully chosen to endure Aotearoa’s harsh elements for generations to come.
