Calibre’s signature undulating timber look batten screens, reminiscent of a towering bamboo forest, effortlessly meld with the cosmopolitan streetscape of Surry Hills, NSW.
Designed by Koichi Takada Architects, this “urban sanctuary” is wonderfully situated on the fringe of Sydney’s CBD. The softened curves of the linear batten facade welcome natural light and maximise the spectacular city views on offer.
Ever Art Wood aluminium timber look battens in colour Oku were chosen, with its oak colouring and natural finishes flowing through to the apartments’ interior. This facilitated its vision of creating a soft, relaxed environment in which residents can unwind.
Ever Art Wood’s incredibly realistic appearance is enhanced by its polymer film that exhibits a design derived from actual timber species. A custom texture was also applied to enhance realism, intentionally designed to make every detail of paramount importance. The realistic timber-like battens are fade-resistant and will maintain their appearance without ongoing oiling, treatments, or maintenance.
Engineered in Japan, Ever Art Wood battens have proved both a functional and economical alternative to real timber alternatives. The Kabebari battens are dimensionally perfect and are comprised of two sections. One is affixed to the structure and the other easily snaps on, simplifying installation while concealing all fixings. The battens are available in long lengths allowing for a streamlined and uninterrupted linear aesthetic.
