Cheltenham Beach Renovation

This project was a full house renovation and extension of a Devonport villa that required extensive design work. Cheltenham Rd. was engaged to provide an overall look and feel for the design direction of the property as well as provide floor plans, elevations, renders and product schedules for every room in the house. Evolving from a distinctly traditional residence into a modern family home. Curated rooms comprise of contemporary forms sitting harmoniously within the architectural foundations of a 1910 villa. The clients wanted a glamorous, bespoke hotel vibe and to highlight their existing quirky art and use sculptural lighting and bursts of colour against muted tones and this will be seen in the visual and textural journey throughout the home mixing modern and traditional elements. Special highlights of this project included specifying the dark concrete floor, designing the villa wardrobes, the panelled hallway and a bespoke oak battened suspended ceiling (designed in collaboration with Fraser Gillies) with feature lighting as well as a custom fireplace covered in large format, ceramic wall panels. Cheltenham Rd. undertook the project management of all of the trades ranging from the high-end kitchen company to the bathroom fittings supplier, door hardware selection and all soft furnishings. All interiors were designed by Cheltenham Rd.  Photography by Sarah Barton-Hills. Architecture by Fraser Gillies
