ABOUT THE PROJECT

Civic Green is an exemplar of inner city adaptive reuse and resource conservation. The project sees the transformation of an unused ‘pool hall’ into a mixed use development consisting of 32 apartments and ground floor commercial space. Utilisation of the existing ground and first floor structure reduced project cost, construction waste and embodied energy.

The use of colour, cascading planter boxes and street trees provide a sculptural massing that adds visual interest to the streetscape. The development demonstrates that inner city adaptive re-use projects can result in high quality outcomes with excellent amenity; whilst maximising development yield.

About the
Professional

As a team of architects, designers and project managers with local knowledge and international experience, we are constantly putting our skills to the test to create outstanding design solutions for our clients across the multi-residential, workplace, education, health, retail, community, residential, industrial and hospitality sectors.

Architecture is expressive, innovative and creative, but it’s also about solving problems and overcoming limits. Our team challenge the status quo, elevate clients’ missions, and seek to measurably improve lives and communities.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
