By Locarno Louvres
Located in a rural setting near Auckland this stone and battened cedar home comprises an assemblage of linked gabled pavilions. Thoughtfully designed to facilitate both indoor and outdoor living, louvred pergolas provide sheltered outdoor spaces over two separate courtyards – one a north/east facing courtyard adjacent to the kitchen and family room and another one north/west facing off the living room providing sheltered outdoor options for morning and evenings.
We like that outdoor living was an integral consideration of the design of this rural home. Two louvred pergolas provide sheltered outdoor living spaces for different times of the day and regardless of the wind direction. The motorised LOCARNO RL200 and RLX200 louvre systems are powdercoated in an Electro Dark Bronze finish. The RL200 profile is a fine rectilinear profile that allows maximum light into the outdoor room and the adjacent living areas. The marginally thicker RLX200 is specified for the longer 3.85m spans of the kitchen pergola.
Architectural detail: Locarno 220x50 aluminium RHS has been fitted inside the steel structure to avoid any visible fixings on the outside of the steel beams.

Locarno Louvres is a design led company, offering architects and designers a wide range of louvre systems for outdoor living.
Locarno’s louvre roof systems offer the perfect solution for creating sheltered outdoor rooms. These may be enclosed with manually adjustable louvred screens and sliding shutters.
Established in 2004, Locarno Louvres has developed its proprietary systems and designs to withstand the extremes of climate across New Zealand.
Our ethos is a design philosophy adopting clean lines and this is represented in the rectilinear forms of our louvre profiles and in every detail of our systems.
Our team works with architects, designers, builders and clients to create individualized designs and see this through to the final installation.
The difference is in the detail.
