As part of their Coastal Homes project, Queensland-based designer duo Zephyr + Stone have created two distinct home designs - the Classic Coastal and the Contemporary Coastal. The Classic Coastal home design incorporates traditional elements such as brass fixtures and warm tones, while the Contemporary Coastal design takes a more modern approach with cool tones, open spaces of natural light and sleek metallic finishes. With a color palette dominated by whites, greys, and cool-toned metals, this home exudes a sophisticated modern vibe that perfectly complements its coastal setting. Ania Forster and Kasia Clarke's meticulous attention to detail has resulted in a beautiful space that seamlessly births a modern and pleasing aesthetic.

Relaxed living inspired by the sun, sand, and sea
This Coastal project places a strong emphasis on creating an ambiance of natural light and space, evoking a sense of relaxed living inspired by the sun, sand, and sea. The incorporation of natural lighting in every room of the house offers an atmosphere of comfort and spaciousness for the homeowners.

To further enhance this effect, the windows and doors are adorned with sheer soft linen curtains that allow sunlight to filter in, rather than bulky shutters or blinds that would obstruct the light. This design choice not only creates an inviting and bright interior but also brings a touch of seaside charm to the overall aesthetic.

Contemporary Coastal ambiance
Zephyr + Stone have a discerning eye for design, evident in their careful selection of neutral tones that create a soothing, Contemporary Coastal ambiance throughout the home. Soft greys, classic whites, light timber finishes, and natural stones can be found in every corner, perfectly complementing the abundance of natural lighting. The kitchen is a key highlight of the home, featuring a striking fluted feature in contrast to the sleek timber cabinetry, creating a modern and balanced look.

The white paneling is found throughout the main benchtop, wall cupboards, and drawers, which upon opening reveals the Hettich InnoTech Atira double walled drawer system – with white interiors and soft-closing functionality, the drawer system is both functional and visually appealing, making it a perfect addition to the inviting and serene environment of the coastal kitchen.
