This project, named after clients Donna and Dave, was an ambitious and detailed new build to realise a sculptural but practical home unlike anything else on the Coal Coast.

Celebrated for its striking presence and ability to instil a sense of calm, this stand-out design by Bokey Grant Architects is one we're proud to have brought to life.

Three floors make up this 3-bedroom home that, although modest in footprint, has a sense of expanse and space throughout. The central living and dining space extends outside in all directions to a private rear courtyard and a wrap-around verandah; the suspended concrete slab it sits on is angled perfectly to capture escarpment views and hide neighbouring properties.

With many creative flourishes - a dramatic v-shaped facade that mirrors the shape of the mountain in the distance, a circular skylight positioned above the master ensuite shower, a sliding door that becomes a wall when closed - this build was unique and enjoyable at every turn.
