Design Duo sisters and former The Block winners Alisa and Lysandra Fraser have unveiled their exterior front façade featuring DecoBatten on their 6-part ‘Design Duo: Twin Off’ series.
The architecturally-designed duplex in Adelaide’s seaside Somerton Park is the twin’s own homes, and has been a passion project they have wanted to complete for a long time coming. Reflecting their individual styles throughout the interior of each home, the teams united to create their street-stopping façade
Featuring light shades of render and natural limestone, the façade is given a modern edge thanks to the new 50x25mm DecoBatten cover that offers a lighter-weight solution for façades and garage doors. Finished in the low-maintenance DecoWood® Curly Birch finish, the choice was a no-brainer when it came to deciding what product to clad their garage doors in.
“When we were looking what to clad the garage door in, without doubt it had to be DecoWood. And how real does it look. It’s aluminium, but it looks exactly like timber. There’s no maintenance, there’s no warping.” said Alisa.
“Then we’ve used the same material along the fence line.” says Lysandra.
The backyards however, were a different story. The battle of styles – light verses dark – extended through the interior of the homes and into the twin’s outdoor living spaces, where both also used DecoBatten for their fencing and pergolas.
Alisa opted for a 40x40mm DecoBatten in the DecoWood Antique White to provide a six-foot fencing and screening solution along the side of the pool to provide privacy and continue the white theme throughout the pool area. To match her dark aesthetics, Lysandra opted for DecoCoat Matt Black 40x40 DecoBatten to create some creative features throughout her outdoor entertaining area and the pergola.
Again, the Super Durable ‘Class 2’ finishes was the deciding factor to allow for optimal durability and longevity with minimal maintenance.
