With 96 floorplan options to choose from, there is no doubt that Australian residential building company, Dennis Family Homes has something for everyone.

Dennis Family Homes is a leading home builder operating throughout Melbourne, regional Victoria and southern New South Wales. Over the last 40 years the Dennis Family has built approximately 30,000 homes, across the spectrum of landscapes and happy home-owners. It’s these years of experience that the team, originally started by Bert Dennis, appreciates every family is unique in the way they like to live. And, as a family, building homes for families, they are able to design functional, flexible and beautiful homes with equally beautiful and quality made furnishings and textiles.

As with any design project, a brief is taken from the client, who also selects a ‘theme’ for their home. Gail Connor, Senior Designer for the business says “when I start working on a new display, I select a theme then evaluate which features would work well in that house to embody the theme. This may be things like timber panelling, wallpaper, feature lighting, window covering type and fabric, cabinetry materials, timber look floor for example.”

“When I start working on a new display, I select a theme then evaluate which features would work well in that house to embody the theme. This may be things like timber panelling, wallpaper, feature lighting, window covering type and fabric, cabinetry materials, timber look floor for example.”

The main aim for the design team is to create model homes that captures the imagination and vision of potential clients, and it’s through the highly considered interior design of the house that really engages people. “I like to select materials and finishes that create interest, while keeping practical considerations in mind” says Gail. The team recently specified several James Dunlop fabrics into two of their display homes in Shepperton, Victoria.

Pencil pleat curtains with a natural weave and peaceful colour palette achieved the relaxed essence of the Hamptons themed home. This was achieved through using the popular James Dunlop Chatham, colour Sail, with a banding in Chatham, colour Coast. The study, living and master bedroom curtains link back to the family room pelmet where James Dunlop Chatham Sail was repeated and finished off with piping in James Dunlop Coast.

“James Dunlop Chatham is a lovely fabric which drapes well and has a great colour palette. I find it easy to use, it’s one of my favourites” states Gail.

The adjacent Urban Loft themed display home, showcases James Dunlop Erosion, colour Torrent in the master suite which was the perfect shade for Gail’s design and it worked well with the modern colour palette throughout the house.

About the
Professional

We’ve developed a deep-seated knowledge of interior textiles in our 110-year history. We’re interested in different ways of living, and we’re constantly exploring what fabrics can bring to people’s lives. And life has always informed what we do.

We believe in fabrics that have a unique viewpoint, born from a curiosity about the world. Fabrics with a sense of purpose. Fabrics that are crafted with passion, and embrace the lives spent on and around them. Fabric that spans trends, generations and cultures. The fabric of life.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
