Step into the exquisite Devonport Villa, the personal sanctuary of Macfie Architecture directors, Michael and Rebecca Macfie. This 1904 classical villa has been lovingly restored and renovated to combine timeless elegance with modern luxury.
The renovation project, carried out by Buxeda Construction, saw the removal of exterior walls to make way for floor-to-ceiling crittall doors and windows, providing seamless access to the enclosed balcony, pool, and stunning gardens.
The highlight of the villa is the 4-meter high black shaker kitchen, complete with a sliding ladder for accessing high cabinets, bookshelves, and record library.
The renovation also included a rear dig-out, repilling, and the creation of a separate downstairs studio space and laundry room, with a hidden laundry chute.
The heritage Perrin & Rowe fixtures in the bathrooms, along with traditional tiles and design aesthetics, pay homage to the villa's original character.
Salvaged bricks from the Britomart Hotel site were used to clad the saltwater pool and enhance the Xanthe White designed garden and landscaping.
