This garden was designed to be multifunctional for a family who wanted to maximise their own environment. The client brief included key requirements such as; to be admired visually, to elevate the house box-like house architectural framework, to participate in, to produce from, as well as to play in.

A charismatic idiosyncratic garden is the result, comprising of an intensively user-friendly composition of garden spaces to account for its many needs. A water feature divides the space and allows user engagement. It was designed to make allocations for the family’s existing fish collection. Fluid structural forms of a curved sandstone feature wall and partnered bench seating opposite a built-in fire pit are two major design details. The rear seating was designed to allow comfort and promote family discussions from across the warmth of the open fire.

As with most of the garden beds due to the size restraints allowable in the design, interest had to be provided efficiently. Architectural accent feature plantings, seasonal flowering perennials, ornamental grasses, variations of succulent style planting combinations, topiary, conifers, wall climbers, autumn colour. The front garden even addresses an awkward rectangular void by transforming it to an ornate formed maze style parterre as an interesting entry detail on view to the front door.

About the
Professional

Established in 2003, by directors Adam McDonald and Adam Tanko. Impressions Landscape – Design has today become a leading residential landscape design company. We are a complete and vastly comprehensive landscaping services provider, exploring unique and adventurous design aesthetics for esteemed residential gardens. We manage projects from inception to completion and further on from here.

We regard the design of outdoor spaces as both functional and artistic expressions where both elements rely equally on one another. We design for an outdoor lifestyle and enjoy turning challenges into beautiful defining landscaping interpretations.

Our approach carefully honours individual personalities, client requirements and design preferences. With the interest of our clients foremost at our thoughts. We aim to engage with clients in a process that brings discovery and inspires people to connect with their garden in a spirited fulfilling way.

We don’t prescribe to social media trends and refuse to adopt popular cookie-cutter design formulas. Each client, each briefing, each property is unique and so are our designs. We love to be creative and to explore.

Our vision to deliver exceptional gardens that exceed client’s expectations is brought about by our passion and enthusiasm to provide individually unique garden designs that seamlessly flow out from and enhance a range of contrasting architectural styles.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
