Farro Smales Farm is a delightful step away from a traditional supermarket experience. More like visiting your local farmers market, the creative concept by RCG celebrates the quality of the produce and the vibrancy of the specialist goods on offer through considered architectural decisions. Through material selection, clever space planning, careful detailing and a unique and creative lighting design response, a simple 'trip to the grocery store' has been firmly elevated from mundane to playful.

Our design team carefully modelled the space to ensure all product was well lit, a great application of our commercial design service. As with all retail environments, where product is concerned we must take extra care and consider every shelf and its illuminance. Within our talented team we also boast some great technical prowess, and it came in handy with the addition of living trees in the produce section... Luckily, with our knowledge of wavelengths we were able to apply our Tube Green track & spot range to promote the life of the trees in the absence of daylight.

In fact, this project was a great application of our team spirit of collaboration. Not only with the wider project team - which goes without saying - but internally, between various account managers, lighting designers, technicians and procurement specialists we were able to draw on our diverse skill set to deliver another successful outcome for our clients.
