Set on the Maribyrnong River in Footscray, Melbourne is a heritage-listed, red brick warehouse that previously housed the Lonely Planet HQ. Since mid-2019, this gorgeous building is now home to a gorgeous new eatery called the Gathered Café. “Featuring timber, touches of leather and an abundance of Shoji linen-look drapery.”
With generous seating for 90 people, the café serves up European-influenced dishes for breakfast and lunch. The design was a collaborative effort between the owners and architects Ewert & Leaf. Featuring timber, touches of leather and an abundance of Shoji linen-look drapery (Mokum, colour Mist) covering the large steel windows. The organic aesthetic of the fabric balances the industrial elements of the space. An exquisite fit-out making it the go-to café in Footscray.

We’ve developed a deep-seated knowledge of interior textiles in our 110-year history. We’re interested in different ways of living, and we’re constantly exploring what fabrics can bring to people’s lives. And life has always informed what we do.
We believe in fabrics that have a unique viewpoint, born from a curiosity about the world. Fabrics with a sense of purpose. Fabrics that are crafted with passion, and embrace the lives spent on and around them. Fabric that spans trends, generations and cultures. The fabric of life.
