A harbour-side renovation that turns an existing house into an easy, light-drenched place for long lunches and a view that never gets old.
Perched above Sydney Harbour, Harbour is a renovation that reworks an existing home so it feels calmer, more open and better connected to the landscape around it.
Inside, spaces unfold easily toward the view. Large windows keep the water in sight throughout the day, while open living areas run directly onto outdoor terraces where people naturally drift once the afternoon light settles in. The house was designed with hosting in mind, but it’s equally comfortable on quieter days when the only thing happening is the tide moving out below.
Material choices lean toward honesty rather than showmanship. Timber and stone introduce warmth and texture; bespoke joinery keeps the rooms composed; carefully placed lighting carries the house through the evening once the sun goes down. At the centre sits a kitchen built for serious use – the kind that holds both weeknight dinners and large gatherings without missing a beat.
What ties the house together is careful construction and a clear respect for the site. The house feels relaxed and resolved to stand the test of time.
