Developer Brunswick Group and architects Six Degrees collaborated to develop masonry screening for the project Hawke and King. The screens were typically used for protection from the northern and western sun, along with light and ventilation screens for fire stairs to promote the use of the stairs rather than using vertical transport. The light and ventilation solution to the fire stairs resulted in well ventilated and lit spaces with a greater feeling of safety for users. These blocks were developed with the required openings to meet building regulations.
