By Lovell and O'Connell Architects
A substantial alteration to a grand Mt Victoria villa. The existing dark rear of the house was opened up from above, with a light filled kitchen providing better connection to the living areas.
Clean crisp lines marry with rich timber joinery and detailing to complement the existing character of the house. Upstairs, the bedrooms and bathroom layouts were updated, with an overall modernisation sympathetically balanced with the house's heritage.
Each architectural project we create evolves holistically from the poetics of landscape & craft, cultural context, sound technical understanding, budget pragmatics & client aspirations.
Founded in 2013 by Registered Architects Ana O’Connell and Tim Lovell, Lo’CA is an NZIA Architectural Practice based on Wellington’s south coast, working across a variety of scales, throughout New Zealand.
