Honeysuckle Park is part of Honeysuckle Urban Renewal, transforming and revitalising the Newcastle Harbour foreshore.

Glascott worked closely with Hunter & Central Coast Development Corporation (HCCDC), Terras Landscape Architects, consultants, and the community to deliver this important piece of public infrastructure.

The park features significant sandstone seawalls and seating, restored historical maritime artefacts, and a new maritime-themed playground. Other elements include new shelters and seating, BBQs, and native plantings.

The large sandstone blocks were carefully and effectively positioned along the water’s edge to frame the park and provide seating with views across the harbour line.

One of the challenges on this project was working with the tides and timing the placement of the sandstone. Our team was able to expertly handle the specifications to deliver a high-quality public asset.

OUR STORY

Small beginnings and big dreams. That’s how our founder Matthew Glascott started The Glascott Group. His vision for the business was a reflection of his love of the land.

Matthew comes from a long line of farmers and graziers. His country-born and bred parents instilled in him a passion for plants, trees, and responsible management of the land.

Matthew’s dad, Joseph Glascott, was the first Environment Writer for Sydney Morning Herald and reported on Australia’s biggest environmental issues in the 1970s & 1980s.

Matthew is passionate about the environment and dedicated to his vision of creating quality open spaces that leave a lasting legacy.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
