House of the Year 24

This award-winning Wānaka home, designed by Roberts Gray Architects a testament to sustainable design and precise craftsmanship. Working closely with the Architect, we created a distinctive intergenerational retreat that perfectly embodies the client’s vision and the natural beauty of the site. This 309sqm residence, built on treasured family land, harmonizes modern aesthetics with classic touches. Its abstract masonry facade and timber screens offer a private sanctuary that unfolds into breathtaking mountain views and four carefully crafted garden courtyards. Our dedicated team brought this extraordinary home to fruition, incorporating innovative environmental features such as double-skin construction, thermally broken joinery, and solar panels. The outcome is a home that not only meets but surpasses expectations, providing a living space that beautifully marries sustainability with luxury. This project exemplifies our commitment to quality and our passion for building homes that are as functional as they are visually stunning. The Wānaka Sanctuary is a genuine family retreat, designed for living, sharing, and creating lasting memories.
