HSBC Building banner

Named after the historic Canterbury Club, Club Tower (now HSBC Building) was the first A-Grade building constructed in Christchurch for over twenty years. Reaching 40 metres into the Canterbury sky, the HSBC Building comprises thirteen stories, with three floors of car parking and ten levels of office space.

The HSBC Building is the South Island’s first 5-star rated Green Star building. It was rated ‘New Zealand Excellence’ after being evaluated against eight environmental impact categories, thanks to its many sustainable design elements.

We wanted this building to be both welcoming and functional for its tenants. The large open plan entry foyer and café were designed to act as a hub for the overall building. Its generous proportions offer places where people can relax or have work meetings, facilitating a more collaborative atmosphere.

In the offices, floor to ceiling glazing provides an abundance of natural light and extensive views of the Southern Alps and cityscape. Balconies enable indoor-outdoor flow while minimal internal walls provide maximum flexibility for tenant fit-outs.
