Hurstbridge Forever Home

Designed by an architect more than 30 years ago, this home has been a much-loved family residence for decades. Rather than relocate, our clients chose to invest in a thoughtful renovation and restoration that would support the next chapter of life. The brief centred on upgrading the interiors while remaining true to the architectural integrity of the original design. Every intervention was approached with longevity in mind, ensuring that new materials, finishes and detailing felt naturally aligned with the home's established character. The aim was not to reinvent the house, but to elevate it for contemporary living while preserving its enduring sense of place. A comprehensive interior renovation was undertaken throughout the home, including new cabinetry, updated finishes and improvements to the functionality of key living spaces. Existing rooms were refined to better support the clients' current lifestyle, providing greater comfort and ease of use while retaining the warmth and familiarity that had developed over many years of family life. Particular attention was given to strengthening the home's relationship with its extensive gardens. Framed views were enhanced and visual connections between interior and exterior spaces were prioritised, allowing the landscape to play an even greater role in the daily experience of the home. Natural light, outlook and a sense of calm became defining elements of the renewed interiors. The project also included significant upgrades to heating and cooling systems, ensuring year-round comfort and improving the home's overall performance. A complete furnishing and styling package brought the final layer of refinement, creating interiors that feel cohesive, welcoming and deeply personal. The result is a home that continues to reflect the quality and vision of the original architecture while providing a renewed sense of comfort, functionality and enjoyment for the years ahead. It is a thoughtful evolution of a much-loved family home, carefully tailored for life as empty nesters while remaining ready to welcome family and guests for generations to come.
