Industrial Black Barn Home banner

This home was a legacy of love for the homeowners as well as the builders. The homeowners wanted to be hands-on during the build; as an engineer, they custom made the concrete benchtops, the vanities and the lighting in the living room. The home is situated atop of the Bombay Hills, looking out over the North Waikato.

Nick Bosanac Builder’s stunning modern build is set atop the Bombay Hills, overlooking the Waikato. While this home is a mono-pitch, it sure isn’t mono-dimensional.

The slight boomerang in the layout of the design positions the home perfectly to take in all the stunning south-easterly views. Clad in hand-charred Larch and randomised width and depth cedar, this gorgeous detailing creates a bespoke look to ensure this home is an envied treasure.

The vision of two young professionals, this home reflects an innate desire for convenience and livability, expressed with clean lines and precise detail. Modern appliances and a walk-in pantry star in the expansive kitchen. Honed concrete floors are attractive and energy-efficient underfoot, natural cladding materials lend the polished design a down-to-earth edge.

Soaring ceilings create a sense of grandeur inside, enhancing the feeling of space on a relatively modest 204 sqm. Feature lighting pendants and other fixtures highlight the sense of volume. Large picture windows capture 180-degree views of the surrounding valley, while the remainder of the home is sheltered by native bush.

A total of four bedrooms allow for alternate living configurations. Guests are easily accommodated in this setup. The large main bathroom and master ensuite complement the overall aesthetic, with streamlined furnishing, feature finishes and a touch of natural charm.

About the
Professional

Our story started long before our time when life was a little simpler but dreams were just as big. You see, Nick’s Great, Great Grandfather was a carpenter in a bustling European town, with centuries of inspirational architecture and craftsmanship all around him.

With a passion for what he could do with his hands, he packed his young family up with hope in his heart and set sail for their chance to share in the ‘American Dream’. Settling just outside of Detroit Michigan, he used his skills to help shape this city into the icon it became in its heyday. Not in any one grand gesture, but in many small skilled tokens of his workmanship.

His love for his craft inspired 4 generations of builders who share that same passion. A Passion which travelled across continents too, from Serbia to the US and then 14 years ago, to New Zealand, Godzone, the place I keep coming back to, regardless of how far and wide I’ve travelled. You see for us, these stories carry our legacies.

For Nick and I, it’s building on that love for craftsmanship and creating spaces where you, can carry on the legacies of your family. We’re building beautiful homes where you can build your own beautiful future.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
