By Sole Landscapes
Sole Landscapes was commissioned by our lovely clients to renovate a space with limited opportunity for entertainment and gardens overrun with weeds, and subsequently, endless maintenance. Following plans drawn by Ingrid Gotlieb Landscape Design, we were able to create a functional space providing a seamless flow between the house of the kitchen and the outdoor dining areas.
The space was divided into two main levels and framed by curved and straight rendered concrete block walls to tie into what currently existed at the site. The fireplace provides the key feature in the courtyard and immediately draws your attention as you head into the space from any direction. Terrazzo Veneto Honed (Colour: Pietra) pavers were installed as the courtyard surface providing a nice contrast between the lighter tones in the rendered walls and picking at some of the darker features that existed on the house. Planting was designed and implemented by Sole Landscapes and carried out in consultation with the clients throughout.
The main goal of the planting scheme was to ensure that the garden spaces were to be maintenance light in the future and express a range of textures to keep interest away from the neighbouring streetscape.
We love our work, you'll love our work.
