Blurring the line between gallery and retail space, the latest July store showcases its products as art pieces, yet as a space, maintains retail functionality through its simple and ergonomic design. A monolithic stone wall forms the backdrop to the open plan, while the warm, ambient lighting highlights the product range in the carved timber nooks. The whole store is grounded by a central, two-tiered solid steel island, allowing for customers to open and test the product at one height, while enabling standing retail staff to conduct payments and administration on a higher island bench. A soft, tiered, amphitheatre-style unit invites visitors to sit and explore the product range. The end result is a store that heroes its products but makes the human aspect the focal point through well considered, ergonomic design.
