Kowai River Barn: A sustainable home featuring ply and cedar claddings, oak finishes, and innovative stormwater management, designed for low energy consumption and recognized with a House of the Year Gold Reserve Award.
This house sits in the Kowai river bed, featuring ply and cedar claddings with oak floors, doors and joinery. Stormwater discharges directly into drainage swales without the use of spouting. Large portal beams hold the structure together while a log burner with solar water make for an extremely low energy home.
Winner of a House of the Year Gold Reserve Award and Local Category Winner.
