The owners of this home were renovating what was to be a property for them to enjoy as they approached the period of life post having raised their children.
Their previous three homes had all featured automation systems completed by another automation and audio-visual provider. Having experienced the ups and downs of previous systems including C-Bus, Dynalite, and Crestron the client was actually considering not automating their new property. They also were tending towards only installing Soundbars for Audio-Visual for similar reasons. One of the core requirements of the client was simplicity. The client was fed up with receiving calls from his wife and children whilst in their previous homes because they couldn’t use their system or the home wasn’t responding as required. Reliability and ease of use were much more important than product quality and performance to the client. They were prepared to sacrifice performance for rock-solid reliability.
The home was a federation era home that was being renovated to the point of almost being new construction, a stunning waterfront property with views of Sydney Harbour and the client needed all items in the home to integrate into the style of the property and wanted a fully automated home that didn’t appear too modern. We achieved this by careful product selection and placement.
After multiple meetings and discussions the client agreed to proceed down the path of a Control4 home automation system, security integration, distributed audio-visual, and a complete Pakedge network. Control4 enabled us to achieve everything the client desired in this home. Panelised lighting was used for automating all of the lighting and blinds within the home. A Control4 intercom system is combined with keypad access panels and a Ness automated alarm system to provide security monitoring of the property and complete access control. Control4 is also integrated into the Lilin NVR and cameras so that all cameras can be viewed within one app. A Pakedge network supplies the backbone to the complete system and allows the system to be monitored via Bakpak.
This project is a stunning example of what can be achieved in a traditional-style home utilising modern home automation. It also showcases the level of detail that the team at Life Style Store goes to when completing a system of this nature for a client.
These Lavender Bay homeowners were renovating what was to be a property for them to enjoy as they approach the period of life following child-rearing. Their previous three homes all featured automation systems completed by other automation and audio-visual providers. One of the core requirements of the client was simplicity. Reliability and ease of use were much more important than pure product performance for this client. They were prepared to sacrifice performance for rock-solid reliability. The waterfront property with views of Sydney Harbour was from the Federation era and was being renovated to the point of almost being new construction. The client needed all items in the home to integrate into the style of the property and once they came to realise that they couldn’t live without automation, they set upon the path to finding a home automation provider. After multiple meetings and discussions, the client engaged Life Style Store to deliver a fully automated home that didn’t appear to be taken over by technology. This was achieved by the team at Life Style Store and Corben Architects via careful product selection and placement. To ensure reliability and system stability, a Control4 home automation system, security integration, distributed audio-visual and a complete Pakedge network was selected. “Since we have completed this work, the client has referred a number of clients to us, which is a testament to how happy he is with the solution we have provided,” says Vinod Christie-David, managing director of Life Style Store.
“The professionals at Life Style Store were a joy to work with and the Control4 system has been easy to use yet powerful in what it can do in our home,” says the homeowner, who thoroughly enjoys the system that has been delivered and the cutting-edge technology, already embracing voice control throughout the home for the Control4 system. Life Style Store was proud to win the Best Lighting Project — Australia award at the 2018 Control4 Dealer Awards for this project. “Control4 enabled us to achieve everything the client desired in this home,” says Vinod. “Panelised lighting was used for automating all lighting and blinds within the home. The Life Style Store History
The Life Style Store first opened its doors in February 2002 in the Riverbank complex in Parramatta. It was started by three individuals with a passion for quality home and car entertainment products. Having had vast experience within Australia’s largest car audio retailer at the time, the staff were determined to take that experience and develop a business that could take the home theatre and car audio experience to another level.
In mid-2004, the Riverbank complex was sold and the company relocated to its current premises at The Junction in North Parramatta where we have been for over 16 years. Over time the showroom has been expanded to include 17 home entertainment demonstration rooms.
In 2021 a further expansion was commenced to showcase a simulated fully automated home and new Automotive categories. The showroom’s vast array of demonstration rooms and facilities allow you to audition the true home and car entertainment experience as well as home automation systems before making your purchasing decision.
Life Style Store’s retail showroom is based in the fast-growing Western Suburbs/Hills region of Sydney, however the store services customers from all over Sydney and Regional New South Wales.
Whilst a competitive price is always of importance, the quality and suitability of the product are even more important and that is the mantra of the Life Style Store. We will design the right system with the correct components to provide you with the performance and functionality to suit your needs. We are also focused on providing you with the best available products on the market for your requirements, so we have made the conscious decision to not import our own brands so that we can remain impartial. We offer a wide range of products from a carefully selected range of brands which we offer without any bias other than towards their performance, reliability, and value-for-money. You won’t find any low-quality brands at the Life Style Store. Vinod, the company’s co-founder says: “We plan to be here for a long time, so don’t want to waste our time on poor quality products. We want our customers to come back and recommend us to their friends.”
