Who are we as people? What makes us individuals? How are we different from others? Depth, intrigue and layers. These were the elements' required to push the boundaries of simplicity, creating a harmonious link between classic wood panelling in the ceiling, modern cabinetry, and luxurious wooden floors. The flow between the kitchen and living spaces needed to reflect sound development in structure, functionality and design. Creating this was essential to capture the family's charisma and the light open space.

The architecture in this house granted us the luxury to play with the idea of stratification. Featuring wood elements across the kitchen was achieved on the island by seamlessly underlaying the stone benchtop with Formica, giving breath to the negative detail. This detailing flowed through to the ceiling scriber, made flush with the oven tower, creating another layer between the overhead cabinets and the stunning splashback. The subtle detail of segregation prevented wood clashes, allowing for harmonious layering across the space.

Layer by layer, the family opened their minds to ways that would improve their lives, like raising the bench, microwave and second oven height to cater to their taller stature. The central island brought the family together through their most significant time of day, breakfast. The additional breakfast bar was the ideal companion, generating endless conversation around the island, which featured ample knee space. The layers of wood and white have been drawn down from the ceiling and reflected in the doors and bench detail, highlighting the continuity and layering of each family member.

Kitchen Studio North Shore is a magnificent success story thanks to Paul and Karen's focus (some might say obsession) on excellence. In fact, everyone on their team, from the award-winning kitchen designers, to the craftsmen responsible for installing new kitchens, is also passionate about achieving excellence in everything they do. If you visit their stunning showroom at William Pickering Drive, you can't help be inspired by the quality of the kitchens on display.

Karen says, "The kitchen is probably the most important room in any home. That's why our kitchen transformation process starts with you in your home. We want to understand you and your family's needs, so we can help you create your dream kitchen".

Paul added, "I'm very proud of what we've achieved on the Shore, our clients demand excellence and, that's what our team lives for".
