1980s Kitchen, Merivale

This small kitchen was created after the client's home suffered damage in the Christchurch Earthquakes. The high stainless shelf serves a structural purpose in the new kitchen as well as providing a ledge for plants and downlights. We opened the kitchen wall to face the dining room and, at the client's request, made room for a large scale refrigerator. A clean palette and simple lines keep this tight kitchen bright and feeling spacious.
By opening up the kitchen wall to face the dining room, we were able to create a more open and connected space. The addition of a large scale refrigerator, as per the client's request, ensures functionality without compromising on style. Using a clean palette and simple lines, this kitchen design is able to maximize the available space, keeping it bright and feeling spacious despite its size.
