The Castle Hill project involved broad site planning for the Cave Stream parking and walkway facilities including stormwater allowance and picnic areas. The design also included walkway details and lookout nodes, controlling visitor movement through the site and creating safe viewing areas for the public.
The design aesthetic included a rustic material palette to blend into the surrounding natural environment.
Earthwork Landscape Architects is a practice based in Christchurch, New Zealand with a strong commitment to its client’s needs and the landscape, a clear philosophy and a history of top quality project delivery. The practice grew out of a rural location where it expanded its expertise in site planning and public design to a broad range of professional engagement. These original strengths in logical, well planned design and a commitment to the natural environment have been retained in our work.
The company now employs seven people, works throughout the South Island of New Zealand and overseas, across commercial, public and private projects. The practice has identified its core skills and these form the backbone of the multidisciplinary work that is now typically carried out. These core skills are site planning, landscape identity, communication and project delivery.
