Revitalising Tauranga's city centre with bespoke landscape design and high-quality public realm delivery.

JFC delivered the transformation of Masonic Park, creating a vital civic link between the future Te Manawataki o Te Papa precinct and the Tauranga Moana waterfront. The project represents a key milestone in the ongoing revitalisation of Tauranga’s city centre, establishing a high-quality public realm that will support major cultural anchors including a library, community hub, civic whare, museum and gallery.

Located within Tauranga’s historic core, the works required careful planning to manage archaeological sensitivities and environmental constraints. A strong emphasis was placed on craftsmanship and precision, particularly in the integration of bespoke landscape elements and custom street furniture. Each component was delivered to exacting design specifications, ensuring seamless alignment with surrounding infrastructure while maintaining high-quality finishes.

Our scope of works included:

  • Site preparation and establishment
  • Installation of concrete and stone paving, pathways, and edge treatments
  • Construction of retaining walls and precast seating units
  • Inclusion of bespoke street furniture and interactive features
  • Installation of water features and service connections
  • Meeting sustainability requirements with materials and design features
  • Installation of drinking fountains, cycle racks, raised planters and rubbish/recycling bins
