Following the preparation of Masterplan for entire Cahill Park site Umbaco was engaged by Bayside Council to design its playspace. The challenge of a need for tidal and flood protection resulted in an interesting site footprint. While protecting the assets from the flooding we seamlessly resolved all levels and adjoining surfaces making all play are as accessible yet interesting and challenging.

Generous elevated areas offer exciting climbing, spinning and sliding opportunities. The quieter and shaded area of a sandpit has lovely handmade sandstone sculptures and clevers and play works loved by young children. There is hopping and skipping over skilfully custom-made rope course next to commercially prefabricated play elements. The variety of play activities complement each other and there is something for everybody.

Stage 2 has also been designed and will include water play, a double flying fox and other exciting elements.

UmbaCo Landscape Architects is a creative and dynamic landscape design studio based in Sydney. Founded in 2001, we work across the Sydney region and New South Wales on a broad range of projects, including residential, commercial, educational, age care and public open spaces.

We are a small team known for big innovative design ideas and talents.

Clients tell us they are often impressed by how proactive, energetic and efficient we are and how we think outside of the square. We keep to timelines and pride ourselves on our quality and high standards.

And we love a challenge! We are not daunted by bigger and more complex projects and we’ve been successful in winning awards for our work, both nationally and in NSW

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
