Matarangi House banner

The large, relaxed holiday house holds universal appeal as a holiday destination and sits comfortably in context. The build form is a sprawling collection of largely single-level pavilions, linked together to define functional outdoor spaces. Generously proportioned living spaces relate directly to both the sea and the enclosed spaces. The scale of the building, together with the traditional pitched roof forms, ensures a harmonious and unpretentious appearance. A black and white composition, dark stained weatherboards with white joinery and pergolas, sits well amongst dark trunks of surrounding mature conifers.
