Merit Stone is a Melbourne-based stone supplier. The client wanted to create a showroom and warehouse that would showcase the potential of natural stone in different applications and a brief was established to create a gallery space, much like an exhibition, to display and exhibit the various possibilities of natural stone. A continuous theme of an abstraction of the logo 'M' was used in the design, from the exterior facade to the interior feature wall and reception table. The motif was translated into different sculptural elements using different stones to transform what is usually seen as a cold material into a soft and moldable medium.
