By HEWE architectural cabinetry
This kitchen and scullery were designed around the copper taps, the client had bought.
The tap as a starting point for the material selection, we knew early on we wanted to use two different colour timbers and metal details.
The exterior of the house is clad in different width grey cedar planks, brought to the interior on the fireplace. On the kitchen splashback we are replicating the exterior planks in a white washed Oak timber. The splashback runs from the bar all the way along the long hob bench in to the sliding door pantry.
To complement the copper taps the benchtops are featuring Neolith corten steel benchtops and the very industrial looking Dekton Trillium on range hood box and fireplace. The island front stands like a monolithic block of corten steel against the white washed Oak timber bar leaner with dining table extension, held up by a plate metal leg. To break up the island length, the dining table was set at a different height.
A bar hidden behind two pocket doors is serving drinks to the dining and living area. Access to the scullery via concealed door.
