Morning Bay House is an industrial-style retreat completed in 2018, nestled in Ku-ring-gai National Park, Sydney. Accessible only by boat, it features a private wharf and boat shed, harmonizing with its natural surroundings while offering luxurious living.
Morning Bay House by Moneghittie Built is a stunning retreat nestled in Ku ring gai National Park, just a short distance from the bustling city of Sydney. Its unique location on the waters edge of Pittwater allows residents to immerse themselves in the beauty of the surrounding spotted gum forest.
Accessible only by boat, the house boasts its own private wharf and boat shed, offering a truly exclusive experience for its inhabitants. Designed to harmonize with the natural environment, Morning Bay House embraces its steep north facing block, blending seamlessly into the landscape both in plan and materiality. This project embodies the essence of connecting with nature while enjoying luxurious living.

Surrounded by dense forests of the national park the bush fire rating is extreme - Flame zone on 3 sides and Bal 40 to the waters edge - predicating an outer adjustable skin of metal fire shutters enclosing timber verandahs overlooking the waters edge and a wind protected walled courtyard to the south.
A gently curving butterfly roof scoops in forest views uphill behind the house and captures the rugged skyline of the surrounding bays. Large eves draw in winter northern sun, and shelter from harsh summer heat.
