The Murrah House banner

The Murrah House is an off-grid rural retreat immediately next door to National Parks and with private access to secluded beaches and lagoons.

The house consists of three pavilions elevated off the ground and sited for expansive views of the pristine bushland and lagoons. It is constructed of large-span galvanised steel, blackbutt wood cladding and floor-to-ceiling windows. The house design invites the bush setting and nature sounds inside, while the elevation and finishes promote longevity through avoiding termites and with high fire rating materials.

The Murrah House operates totally off-grid using a 400,000 litre rainwater tank, solar power energy system and kitchen garden. The impressive Moruya granite stone fireplace is a commanding central feature and its large thermal mass - along with the sunlight collected through its windows - provides year-round passive temperature control.
