Located on Naisoso island in Fiji, this tropical home faces the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands to the west. It is designed to reconcile security issues with an open contemporary life in an almost fantasy setting.
Orientated towards the setting sun, the house is constructed of local trade block, in-situ poured concrete and cladded with simple coral stone to add texture to the surrounding white interiors. Prefabricated aluminium windows with cyclone resistant joinery are bolted onto the concrete structural frame. This is fixed with imported aluminum Cyclone resistant joinery on a high tech raft slab pile foundation to anchor it at the top of its white sand beach.
