Newtown Lighthaus NSW

As an offering of balance to the original and heritage home, Newtown Lighthaus celebrates a rigour in detail, highlighting a refinement in the newly introduced contemporary insertions, while respecting the existing surrounding context. As an elevation and addition to the existing home, and to continue a sense of relevancy as the owners ready for the coming chapters, the new adjustments and restoration efforts acknowledge connections to a crafted past, while focusing on a shared calm throughout. By focussing on light and a feeling of lightness within the home, the internal volumes become naturally illuminated and made to feel perceptively more generous than they otherwise are. The result sees optimisation of a quaint and restrictive site, celebrating the coming together of heritage and contemporary living.
