By Cera Stribley
A small scale project renovation of a house in South Yarra, the clients had lived in the house for 20 years, with grown up children and travelling less it was time to design a complete update. The design converted a fourth bedroom to an ensuite for the main bedroom and a home office space. By altering the carport on this side of the house a north facing courtyard was created to draw light into the centre of the house. the main bath and laundry were swapped allowing for a spacious replan of each and provide much needed storage.
The interior is a contemporary take on both the original Victorian era details, and the more recent renovation details of the house. It’s fresh neutral colour palette, chrome fixtures and fittings, accents of subtle green and decorative Scandinavian lighting all work to create a timeless and sophisticated interior.
