Project Wattle

Project Wattle was all about transforming a tired, poorly designed home with a 90s extension into a stunning Art Deco-inspired masterpiece for Shobana and Mark Richmond. The original layout didn’t quite cut it, especially with a tiny kitchen and a disconnected flow between dining and living areas. We saw the potential to reimagine the space by utilising the dead zone at the side of the property, creating a spacious new kitchen and a sleek butler’s pantry right where the old one used to be.  Our redesign didn't stop there — we rejigged the entire floorplan to make everything more connected, turning the dining and living zones into a seamless, social space. We also added a dedicated services area, complete with another bathroom, a mudroom, and laundry, giving the home a practical yet stylish upgrade. The other bathrooms got a fresh internal refurb, all while maintaining that timeless Art Deco style that really sets this project apart. The end result is a beautifully modern yet characterful home that’s perfect for the clients’ lifestyle, finished in 2022 with a true sense of style and functionality.
