Raptor Enclosure

The Raptor Enclosure was designed for Zoos Victoria. ODO gained interest in the project as it serviced end users beyond just humans, that is raptor birds. The design outcome was informed by the birds’ unique behaviours and the rehabilitation journey endured by the birds before they were ready for the wild again.

We strived to design architecture that would be built and molded by the behavioural patterns and movements of the inhabitants living within. As such, the Raptor Enclosure is not simply an encasement, but rather a manifestation of the raptors’ own flight paths.

Through genuine understanding of the rehabilitation needs and behavioural patterns of the birds, ODO was able to devise a design that provided endless flying loops for the birds to regain their full strength before being released into the wild.
