This new home on beautiful Red Beach is harmoniously integrated in the surrounding landscape. For the interiors, light timbers and whites have been combined to lay a canvas for the client to accessorise. The kitchen and scullery design follows this theme.
A big white island overlooks the living space. It’s shape cleverly mirrors the curved scullery wall and is entirely cladded in Himacs, an acrylic, mineral and natural pigments composite, to create a smooth seamless surface.
The wall at the back of the island flows uninterrupted from the kitchen into the scullery, transitioning from a total white, to a well-balanced blend of white and timber. The woodgrain finish softens the white satin lacquer and gives the space a warmer feeling, a contemporary, fresh look made to last.
Besides the visual appeal and the colour choices, the project meets the client brief and expectations in terms of spatial design. The kitchen zones are connected but each have their own space. The design of the wall units has been wisely created to provide ample storage while concealing ducting, and these details together make a space to enjoy entertaining and cooking at the same time.
