Sofitel Wellington epitomizes the label 'boutique' with its intimate spaces loaded with design features. The decorative palette is made up of classic French-inspired florals, plush velvets, brass detailing and accents of gold and copper lighting. With such a wide range of brands to draw from ECC was well placed to offer lighting and furniture to meet the design brief.
The public spaces are altogether a fuller onslaught of ideas, curated to produce a surprising visual feast. This is in full volume in the Jardin Grill restaurant. Here the ideas and designs of the Romance countries come together in a modern interpretation of a classic European space.
Jaime Hayon's Piña Chair for Magis around the Ypsilon Tables by Pedrali and Parachilna's Aballs wall lights and pendants are the Spanish and Italian contributions.
The Green Room behind the main reception area has a more eclectic feel to it with collected brass and glass artifacts on display and Bai pendants inspired by Chinese lanterns hanging over the bar.
Drawing on traditional notions of luxury the feature lighting in the private spaces incorporates cut crystal detailing in the Valentine and Crystal Bulb pendants, which hang in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Similarly Nostalgia pendants, which are also used in the bathrooms, draw on retro forms in their blown glass shades. The pendants are in gold, and plush velvets also make their way into the private spaces linking them to the overall design concept.
