The grounds of this beachside home were revamped to create a welcoming space for regular gatherings of the owners’ family and friends away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Located in the seaside town of Somers on the Mornington Peninsula, the garden’s new design incorporates a range of native and indigenous salt and wind-resistant plants that blend beautifully with the surroundings and can be easily maintained over time.
The garden features a mix of new and existing vegetation and sustainable, locally sourced materials. Natural stone, timber and water features add to the attractive naturalistic style.
An open lawn shaded by a mature she-oak is a focal point at the front of the home. It offers a space for ball play and is complemented by a cosy fire pit and BBQ entertaining area.
Stone paths bordered by kangaroo paws, soft grasses, and tall trees add privacy and serenity to the home's front and backyard gardens.
At the back of the house, a spacious swimming pool and stylish pool pavilion provide the perfect setting for lounging and lazing. The pool and dedicated bike storage areas are framed by rustic timber coastal pool fencing.
The owners are thrilled with the result and look forward to enjoying their beautiful, low-maintenance native garden for years to come.
