At St Joseph’s School in Papanui, North West Christchurch, the once lifeless quad at the heart of a busy classroom zone has been completely transformed.
The dull, hard asphalt, with its faded defined play areas and sports courts, have given way to a vibrant and engaging environment thanks to a custom SmartGrass quad.
The Initial Challenge
The space was under-utilised and failed to provide a welcoming environment for students. The school needed a solution that would not only revitalise the area but also ensure safety and durability.
The Transformation ProcessPlanning and Design
The first step in the transformation was a thorough assessment of the existing space. SmartGrass worked closely with St Joseph’s School to understand their needs and vision. The design phase included creating a custom plan that would maximize the usability of the quad, incorporating vibrant colours and elements to attract students.
Installation
Working closely with the school, the installation process was carried out with precision and efficiency. SmartGrass prepared the ground for the new surface. The SmartGrass quad featuring our Active 12 artificial turf and the school’s custom produced logo, was installed, ensuring a seamless and durable finish that would withstand the daily activities of the school.
