By Meredith Lee Interior Designer
This apartment in the Melburnian complex, was purchased by our client for use when they and their family stay in Melbourne. The foundations of the apartment were lovely and didn’t need any attention. Our brief was to add furniture, artwork and decorative items to make the apartment both luxurious and comfortable, for the different family members that stay there. With lower ceilings and very little architectural detailing, we used scale (e.g. larger art pieces) and sculptural items (e.g furniture and lamps) to add drama and interest to the rooms. A new coffee/cocktail bar was custom designed specifically for the clients’ needs and collection of wine. Custom designed soft furnishings also enabled us to inject personality and multiple functions into this flexible apartment.
