KLAY Tiles was able to supply Agrob Buchtal Basis Pro porcelain tiles for the Town Square and its “internal street”, change rooms and all wet area floors and walls. The selections made by project architectural firm Cox Architects, perfectly enable the delivery of both the functional and aesthetic requirements of these spaces.

Agrob Buchtal stands for high quality ceramic tiles. Having worked with clay since 1755, Agrob Buchtal has a comprehensive understanding of their materials and the production of highest quality stoneware, porcelain stoneware and earthenware. The longevity of a brand such as Agrob Buchtal reflects the quality and reliability of its products. With its long manufacturing history, Agrob Buchtal will still be in business and able to supply materials for subsequent extensions and renovations to this, and any other community infrastructure projects.

All Basis Pro tiles sourced from Agrob Buchtal come with a Protecta finish, ensuring optimal hygiene conditions. The Protecta surface upgrade creates a sealed surface, eliminating the possibility for germs to thrive. These unglazed vitrified tiles are inherently durable and resistant. With Protecta surface enhancement, their ability to resist stains and dirt is significantly improved. During the firing process, a ceramic coating is applied in the factory, bonding to the tile and sealing the natural “micropores” typical of unglazed ceramics. This prevents the penetration of substances that cause stains, making it much easier to clean and maintain over time.

Protecta technology is fired directly into the tile, making it entirely suitable for high-traffic areas such as the State Basketball Centre.
