Spinning plates of nourishing eats, this soulful sanctuary with its seventies scenography is soundtracked by vinyl records on rotation. Super relaxed, lashings of caramel cork underfoot plus buttery yellow and avocado green shades surround a nucleic lounge-like enclosure clad in retro brown carpet, sealing the café’s lounge-like ambience.
A suspended artwork in the shape of a fan by venezuelan-australian artist, nadia hernández, hangs above the dining area declaring ‘destino’ (‘destiny’ in English) for Sydney’s cool new hang-out.
Custom printed retro café-style curtains featuring pea greens and browns shade diners from sunlight, their tones bolstered by a wonka-esque lamp we positioned pride of place by the entrance.
Superfreak’s other nostalgic touches with a hand-crafted essence include an abstract leafy garden landscape mural painted behind a counter by our long-term collaborators, creative finish, plus quirky ceramics sprouting edible references.
