When ThreeSixtyArchitecture asked us to design a modular system for Swanndri we were thrilled to showcase the versatility of our products. The ensuing conversation pushed us to develop our range to accommodate businesses that require constant adaptation.
The modular system allows shop floor employees to raise and lower rails, shelves, billboards and prongs equipped only with an Allen key. So too can components be removed and added as needed.
The biggest challenge was to make mobile gondola units. This straightforward task hit roadblocks as we veered away from standardized models. The client wanted a timber base to match wall shelves, hold heavy weight, use modular components, support display signage and use alternative rail structures.
We consulted engineers and designers to make what we believe to be the perfect mobile merchandise display unit. Not only does it carry close to a tonne, it maintains modular components and looks nothing like a stock-standard display found in most retail outlets.
A side affect of using components designed for industrial use is their strength capacity. This avoids system failures related to overloading parts and wear and tear. As we developed our systems we never worried about weight capacity or durability. Instead we focused our energies on making everything work to the clients expectations.
When it came time to installation, Gulf Projects did a fantastic job of piecing together kit set components. Of course the experienced shopfitter understands something is bound to go wrong somewhere along the line. In this instance the overhanging rails overhung a little too far. Gulf adapted. Pipes were cut to size, made possible by using modular clamp fittings. No need to weld, fabricate or thread components. Add to this our warehouse of spare parts, we were able to ship what was needed asap.
The challenges and creativity of taking our business to the next level to meet Swanndri's requirements was thrilling. The result was a happy client and a new line of product offerings.
