Tamarama Lifeguard Tower: A collaboration between Waverley Council, lifeguard staff, and TKD Architects, this tower enhances public safety and amenity at Tamarama Beach with unobstructed sea views and robust weather resilience, adhering to the highest OH&S standards.

Client: Waverley Council

To improve public amenity and safety at Tamarama Beach, Waverley Council, the lifeguard staff and TKD Architects developed a brief for a lifeguard tower with unencumbered views of the sea as well as resilience to all weather conditions. Anchored firmly on a sandstone shelf, the lifeguard tower meets the highest standards of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S). The new tower is a marriage of the functions, low maintenance materials, and surf beach requirements refined in the brief.
